A guide to care and cost

Questions worth bringing.

Bring questions about the care and the bill. Leave room for the doctor to say no.

Check the doctor before your visit

Telehealth is a medical visit held through video, a phone call or an exchange online.

  • As of September 26, 2026, the doctor must hold a licence or other permission for medical practice in the state you are in when the visit takes place.
  • The state medical board’s record tells you if the doctor has a licence. It also lists actions the board took against the doctor for breaking its rules.
  • Ask for the doctor’s full name, then check the relevant board’s own record.

What is still unknown about harm

The US agency for medicine reviews is the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

  • Its page current as of April 22, 2026, says important information about harm from Selank in people is missing.
  • The maker’s Russian leaflet rules out use during pregnancy or breastfeeding and in people younger than 18.
  • Those warnings come from the maker’s leaflet, not from an FDA-approved medicine label. They do not give a complete picture of who can use Selank without harm.

Claims that need a closer look

Ask for study results when someone promises a benefit.

  • On September 30, 2026, the FDA’s drug list included Selank powders sold as ingredients for making medicines. These were not finished medicines. Each entry has a code to identify it. That code does not mean FDA approval.
  • Claims that Selank improves memory are based on experiments in rats. Results in rats do not show that it helps memory in people.
  • FDA warns that a very low online pharmacy price can be a concern alongside other signs; price alone does not prove a problem.

Get help for severe symptoms

MedlinePlus lists a swollen tongue and trouble breathing as signs of a severe allergic reaction.

  • For these severe symptoms, go straight to an emergency room or call 911.
